Dear AEU Members,
Your AEU Bargaining Committee met today for our second day of negotiations. We started negotiations at 9:00 AM. In this session, CSEA informed us that they would send us a draft agreement to be attached to the new Labor Relations Representative/Member Education & Staff Development job description during the next caucus. AEU then gave an in-depth, line by line presentation on our initial proposal. The parties broke for caucus at 11:08 AM.
CSEA submitted their draft agreement at noon and the AEU negotiation team reviewed the proposed language. We drafted the attached counterproposal and have submitted it to CSEA.
CSEA informed us at this time that they were spending the rest of the day working on their counterproposal to AEU’s initial proposal.
Attached to this message, you will find all the documents we reviewed today: (1) CSEA Proposal Agreement for the newly created LRR/MESD Position, (2) AEU Counterproposal MOU for the newly created LRR/MESD Position, (3) Response to the RFI for Delta Dental and VSP rates, (4) Clarification on Article 32- Intern Program.
Your AEU Bargaining Committee looks forward to continuing negotiations with CSEA and we appreciate all the support we’ve received from the field and HQ today. Please remember to wear red on Thursday for the FST North.
